Our Family Legacy
Wholly Cow is a family-owned and operated farm that has been in business since 1885. Our story started with a pioneer spirit and a vision to conquer the Wild West. Great-great-grandfather Henry Bearman settled on our land in Johnson City, Kansas, after taking a train from Cincinnati and walking 25 miles south. He quickly learned that eastern farming methods would not work in the western region and began experimenting with rice, corn, sorghum, kaffir, and maize.
Henry eventually found success in the cattle industry, growing his herd to 800 head of horses and cattle. Today, Wholly Cow continues the Bearman legacy with a passion for sustainable, humane farming practices. We are proud to provide our customers with the highest quality beef, poultry, pork, and other meats that are ethically and sustainably raised on our farm. Our meats are 100% hormone- and antibiotic-free, and we never use feedlots or GMO products.
