As a child I grew up next door neighbors to the Commander of McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita Kansas. He took my sister and I to work one day and sat us in a F-16. He put the heavy helmet on and dressed us up in a pilot suit. It is a day I will never forget. My birthday lands on November 11th, Veteran’s Day. One year Colonel Sykes flew over our house with four F16s coming back from a parade. The sound of the jets shook our bodies. I remember standing there in awe, feeling like I must be pretty special to get something like that for my birthday. My house just happened to be in the perfect path of their flight schedule that day!! I grew up surrounded by military friends and family and had the upmost respect for their services. My grandpa Mattson guarded the White House during World War II. Eleanor Roosevelt would often invite them in and host parties for them to celebrate their service.
My sister Rachel served in the Air Force for six years and her husband Jeremy served for 20 years as a A10 Pilot. I also have three veteran cousins. I remember the sinking feeling I got on 911 knowing my sister and cousins would be headed to war soon. I have always admired military personnel and the sacrifices made. My husband, Matt, and I thank God for all of the soldiers that have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms. God Bless our soldiers and all military spouses and families. Because of you, we can farm and ranch in the best country there is.

This includes our fully grass-fed and finished beef, raised right here on our ranch in Kansas. We also offer our fully pastured chicken, also raised on our farm.
